  This was Brandy's first lesson. We started at the piano
  and did some scales and range experiments to see how
  high and how low she could sing. Her range got bigger
  the more we sang, so part of that was just nerves.\n  
  I'm going to send a scale thing for her to practise
  with at home.\n   We then made a list of songs to work
  on, which she'll try to focus on memorizing the melody
  and lyrics to make it easier. Here's the list:\n

  We did some scales at the piano and I suggested Brandy
  look for the app on the play store that shows the notes
  you're singing as horizontal lines (I don't know what
  Apple calls it). I did a search on the Apple store,
  though, and found this one:\n

    Maybe try installing that and see if it helps you
  practise not "swooping" into the first note of your
  scales?\n   After that, we sang through Before He
  Cheats, first with Carrie Underwood, and then with a
